EVM Sponsors Broward County Waterway Cleanup.

Environmental Marine is a proud long-time sponsor of the Broward County Waterway Cleanup, which has been organized by the MIASF since the 1970s. As Broward County’s largest and longest-running environmental event, the Waterway Cleanup brings members of the community and the local marine industry together to remove trash and debris from dozens of inland waterways throughout the county.

Held each year on the first Saturday of March, last year’s event saw more than 1200 volunteers of all ages set out along the shoreline and on over 100 boats to remove 25 tons of trash and debris from Broward’s waterways. The Waterway Cleanup also gives out more than $1000 in scholarships to participating students to help encourage a sense of environmental responsibility and advocacy in the next generation.

The team at Environmental Marine is looking forward to supporting this year’s cleanup effort. Volunteers can register to participate at one of 30 site locations on Saturday, March 5 of 2022. There is no fee to join and no need to bring a boat!
