The Dometic/Sealand B Series is an older vacuum pump used in VacuFlush marine sanitation systems. It was last produced in the early 1990s. If your system has lost vacuum, the toilet isn't flushing properly, or the pump is running but not building pressure. The parts on this page are typically where the fix starts.
It can be identified by a guide linkage that attaches to the pump body and the connecting rod, and the diaphragm has 4 bots securing it to the connecting rod. Not sure if you have a B Series pump? Use our Vacuum Generator and Pump Finder to confirm your model before ordering.
The B Series pump has two components that wear out most often:
Pump losing vacuum or not building pressure: Start with the duckbill valves. These rubber check valves are the most common failure point in B, J, L, and M Series pumps. Available in black (standard) and red nitryl (upgraded material) in 4-packs.
Pump running but weak, noisy, or leaking when running: The diaphragm is the likely culprit. The B-Pump diaphragm is a rubber membrane that drives the vacuum action. If it fails, pump performance drops noticeably or stops altogether.
Are the duckbill valves specific to the B Series?
The 2” duckbill valves on this page are compatible with B, J, L, and M Series pumps. If you're not sure which series you have, use our Vacuum Generator and Pump Finder or call us at 1-800-522-2656.
What's the difference between the black and red nitryl duckbill valves?
The black valves are the standard replacement. The red nitryl valves use a more chemical-resistant material and are a good choice if your system has been exposed to chemical-holding tank treatments or other chemicals. Natural treatments do not typically harm the black duckbills. The red duckbills are stiffer, resulting in slightly reduced performance.
Is the B Series pump still in production?
The B Series is an older pump. Parts availability can vary. If you can't find what you need here, call us at 1-800-522-2656. We'll help you track it down or identify a compatible replacement.
